About

Graduate Womxn in Chemical Engineering (GWiChE) was founded in Fall 2018 with the goal of supporting graduate womxn in the ChemE department at MIT. We strive to create a welcoming and safe space for womxn in the department by hosting coffee hours, lunches, networking events, and educational workshops.

Our mission is to support graduate womxn in the Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT by facilitating the formation of social and professional networks, providing opportunities for personal growth and empowerment, and promoting a supportive and inclusive environment.


Join us!

All graduate students and post docs are welcome to join and become involved to help us create/promote an inclusive environment for womxn in this department at MIT. We also love to collaborate with other groups on campus- please reach out!


Annual Events:

  • Bi-annual ChemE Womxn Faculty Luncheon
  • Graduate womxn social coffee hours
  • Networking events (typically panel of industry or academia mentors)
  • Mixers and social events with other graduate womxn groups in the area
